A Festival for Everyone - Gravesham & Medway Virtual Pride, August 2020

14-Jul-2020

2020 was going to see the launch of Medway Pride 2020, but due to social distancing guidelines the organising team  have created a Virtual Medway Pride Event delivered via the internet - and here's how YOU can join #VGMPride2020 wherever you are during August 2020!

Stronger Together

Medway Pride have joined forces with Gravesham Pride to deliver Gravesham & Medway Virtual Pride 2020, and they are looking for contributions from creative performers, artists, poets, etc. to create virtual artefacts to download, on demand video or live stream video.

The artefacts can be on any platform like YouTube, Vimeo, even Facebook, so long as the group can link to the source they can include your item in the schedule.

The organisers’ immediate thoughts go to performance on video, both recorded and live stream, that can be programmed and streamed online, but they also want to look at wider engagement and would welcome:

  • Performances, Plays, monologues, Comedy, Dance
  • Music, all styles of music performance including Bands, Groups, Solo artists, DJ Sets.
  • Poetry, Performance and Creative Writing/ Publication Online
  • Photography and film
  • Art, Creative art works on video, online galleries
  • Collaborative artwork, collages on video, online galleries
  • Craft work Creating artefacts on video, online galleries

Any physical works could be included in their 2020 LGBTQI+ History Month Exhibition at Nucleus Arts Chatham Gallery planned for next February.

The group are open to any and all suggestions that they can look at to deliver Virtual Medway Pride during August 2020, Including workshops, quizzes, games etc. as well as performances
