Ask the Expert – A Free Event for Dementia Awareness Week 2017

To mark Dementia Awareness Week, the Medway Dementia Action Alliance are bringing together a range of experts who live or work in the Medway area, and you are invited to share their knowledge and experience of dementia.

With Dementia Awareness Week taking place on 14th to 20th of May 2017, Alzheimer’s Society and the Dementia Action Alliances are asking everyone across the country to unite against dementia.

It is said that dementia will be this century's biggest killer, but awareness and understanding remains low, with many families facing it alone. By joining together there would be an increase in awareness; help and understanding can also be gained, as well as insights to improving care which could also lead to help finding a cure.

There are many events and activities being held across Kent intended to raise your awareness about dementia.

The Medway Dementia Action Alliance (DAA) will be hosting a free event where a collection of 'experts' who live or work in the Medway area, will be sharing their knowledge and experience around dementia.

Each expert will be giving a short presentation and you will have the chance to ask any questions that you may have.

If you are affected by dementia, working with people living with dementia, or would just like to know more, then Medway DAA advise that this is the event for you.

This free event is taking place at Medway Adult Education, Rochester Community Hub, Eastgate, Rochester, Kent ME1 1EW on 19th of May 2017 from 9am till 1pm.

To book your place, visit the Wrinkly Network website. For more information you can also call Jane Page, Medway DAA Co-Ordinator, on 07718322191.
