BBC Children in Need Main Grants Programme

BBC Children in Need continue their call for applications from charities and not-for-profit organisations working with disadvantaged children and young people of 18 years old and younger who live in the UK, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands.

BBC Children in Need is the BBC's UK corporate charity. Thanks to the support of the public, they are able to make a difference to the lives of children all across the UK.

They work toward making sure that children in the UK have a childhood which is safe, happy and secure; allowing them the chance to reach the best that they can be.

The Children in Need Main Grants programme offers of a minimum of £10,000 for up to three years (£30,000 in total ) charities and not-for-profit organisations that are supporting children and young people up to the age of 18 years who are experiencing disadvantage through:

  • Illness, distress, abuse or neglect
  • Any kind of disability
  • Behavioural or psychological difficulties
  • Living in poverty or situations of deprivation

The projects they fund make differences in children’s lives that work toward helping challenge, prevent or overcome the effects of the misfortune they may face.

The Projects should be seen to achieve these positive changes by either openly working with the children in concern or the project looks to improve their social and physical surroundings or environment.

Although there is no real limit for Main Grants, very few grants over £120,000 are made, and the funding can support projects for up to three years.

The deadline for this season is midnight on 1st June 2017, with further dates to be announced later this year.
