Charity Finance Group Publishes Free Guide to General Data Protection Regulation

The Charity Finance Group has produced a FREE guide to help voluntary organisations comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

As published previously, the revisions for Data Protection law and policies will be going through their biggest changes in nearly 20 Years, and organisations are being advised to start preparing for the changes.

Working in partnership with accounting and consultancy firms Buzzacott, Crowe Clarke Whitehill and Kingston Smith; the resulting guide from The Charity Finance Group (CFG) is divided into five parts:

  • Governance
  • Fundraising Data
  • Financial Data
  • Beneficiary Data, and
  • Employee Data

The sentiment from CFG is that Data protection is a core area of a charity’s operations; and because of the new regulations coming into place by the European Union in May 2018, charities have to know about and be confident to put in place the guidelines and rules effectively and in the best way possible.

The guide is aimed at anyone with responsibility for data management within their charity; from trustees, to finance directors, to volunteers, and the intention from CFG is that the guide provides practical advice and concrete methods to support organisations to work towards achieving best practice in data protection.

For more information, and to get your FREE copy of the guide, visit the CFG website.
