Continued Call for Applications from Bright Ideas Fund23-May-2017
The Community Business Bright Ideas Fund continues its call for applications from community groups and organisations that need support to set up their community business in England.
This fund is aimed at helping to set up a local community asset which has the potential to be turned into something worthwhile.
The funding can also be used if there is a community business idea that needs to get off the ground; or if there is a community group or organisation who would like to set up a community business or enterprise but is in need a bit of support.
The £1.85 million Community Business Bright Ideas Fund is offering around 80 community groups in England, with up to 15 days of tailored support, as well as grants of up to £20,000 to develop their budding community business ideas.
This two-year programme will be delivered by a consortium that includes Co-operatives UK, Plunkett Foundation and Groundwork UK. This consortium is being led by The MyCommunity network run by Locality.
The intention of the Fund is to give community groups the support and tools to start setting up their community business, as well as give them the early stage finance that they would need to carry out talks and meetings with local people and feasibility.
The Community Business Bright Ideas Fund is a rolling programme which will remain open for applications until July 2018. The deadline for the next round applications is midday on 31st May 2017, with additional funding rounds in the Autumn of 2017 and Spring 2018.
