Funding for the Energy Impact Awards scheme is provided by National Energy Action (NEA), working in partnership with British Gas to provide awareness of best practices amongst agencies that run projects which tackle fuel poverty and benefit vulnerable people in the England, Scotland and Wales.

Prize funding is available to Voluntary and Charity sector, public sector and similar organisations whose energy projects focus on fuel poverty and benefit vulnerable people in their local area.

There are three levels of prize funding available:

First prize - £10,000 (one award)

First runner-up prize - £5,000 (two awards)

Second runner-up prize - £2,500 (two awards)

Successful applicants will also receive a full place to the NEA Annual Conference in Nottingham in September; this place includes travel and accommodation worth £650; they will also have the opportunity to showcase their project at the conference.

Although applications should show creative and imaginative approaches to helping vulnerable people, special interest would also be given to applications that demonstrate original or inventive ways of working with new and exciting technologies.

The deadline for application is 19th May 2017.
