From Discovery to Enterprise - The Test Bed Fund from MVA’s Befriending Programme

10-Jul-2020

MVA is managing the award of grants to local organisations who are working to provide services and activities which aim to strengthen community through befriending ventures.

Are you an organisation working with people in Medway or Swale?

Do you have a great idea you want to test around how you can work more effectively with this group that links to Befriending?

If the answer to these questions is yes, then the Test Bed Fund might be exactly what you are looking for!

Run by the Befriending Programme at Medway Voluntary Action, and in association with the CCG, Carers First and Age UK Medway, the Test Bed Fund offers grants of up to £5,000 for this. The Programme seeks to improve health and wellbeing, and strengthen community cohesion through befriending, and this fund allows them to work with new partners to pilot new and innovative ways of working.

The Programme says they are looking for:

  • New initiatives to be explored/ tested
  • Specialised conditions-focussed befriending support
  • Locality-based befriending services
  • Further development of existing services
  • Stimulating local activities

The Programme advises applications must be in by 1st September 2020, with projects starting not later than October 2020.

For more information and how to apply, you can contact Dalia, Louise or Nicola on 01634 564939. You can also email them at befriending@mva.org.uk.
