Latest News from Medway Safeguarding Children Board – Winter 2019

20-Feb-2019

Medway Safeguarding Children Board (MSCB) has recently released their Winter Bulletin, providing news of the work and events within MSCB.

Based in Chatham, Medway Safeguarding Children Board (MSCB) is the statutory multi-agency organisation that works to help make sure that children are safeguarded properly by agencies working effectively together.

Their membership includes senior representatives from Medway Council, all Medway health bodies, Kent Police, Medway schools, voluntary organisations, and many others.

They have recently published their latest issue of their MSCB Bulletin, which showcases the work and events within The Board.

Highlights include details about Channel, a programme centring on providing support at an early stage to people who are identified as being vulnerable to being drawn into terrorism;

Channel is part of The Prevent Strategy, which Medway Council have the lead role in delivering, and was created to safeguard people from radicalisation or extremism.

The Bulletin also showcases The Young Lives Foundation (YLF), a local independent children’s charity providing support to young people, who are working with Medway Council to offer an Advocacy Service for all children aged over 8 years.

The Winter Bulletin for 2018/19, as well as previous issues, is available to download NOW from the MSCB website.
