Medway Council appoints Medequip to manage Community Equipment Service provision
08-Sep-2020
Medway Council has appointed Medequip to manage their Community Equipment Service provision across Medway.
The Medway Integrated Community Equipment Service (MICES) supports children and adults who, due to their health or a disability, may need community equipment to help them live their day-to-day lives and maintain their independence and wellbeing.
Medway Council, which according to research released in February 2020 is one of the highest performing councils in the country for adult social care, has appointed specialists Medequip to manage provision duties across the area covered by the council. This includes Rochester, Gillingham, Chatham and the Isle of Sheppey.
Residents are referred to Medequip by Medway Council’s Adult Social Care team, Medway Community Healthcare and NHS practitioners but they can also use Ask SARA, an online self-help guide, run by the Disabled Living Foundation, and hosted by Medequip to help find advice and information about products which could make daily living easier.
