Advice and Guidance with Medway Voluntary Action31-Aug-2018
For many years, MVA has offered advice and guidance to other charities in Medway with the aim to support them in their drive to empower Medway communities to come together to help improve their lives and solve problems that are important within their communities. It can take the shape of guidance around subjects such as appropriate structures, governance, income generation, operational, amongst a load of other areas.
This support has been provided by Neville Dack before he moved on to pastures new at the end of 2017. He did this work initially just through one to one support, but over time he built up a wealth of information which has been stored on our website:

MVA also realised that while many people are happy to find solutions to their problems by using the website, this does not always answer the problem, therefore MVA recruited Steve Kemp, who joined MVA on 4 June 2018 as Business Development Officer. Steve has worked in the voluntary sector for over 25 years. For many of those years, he has worked in the Social Housing sector in a variety of roles, including Chief Executive and Interim Chief Executive of London Housing Associations, and Company Secretary of two other Housing Associations. He has also formed a Community Interest Company and a Community Benefit Society, as well as assisting the formation of a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. He therefore brings a wealth of knowledge to MVA.
