Now’s the Time – Part of the Justice and Equality Fund from Rosa UK

Rosa, the UK Fund for Women and Girls, is inviting applications from across the UK for the first round of its Justice and Equality Grants Program.

Rosa UK says they want to amplify the voices of all the individuals and groups who are calling for an end to sexual harassment and abuse, in their workplaces and in their communities.

The UK charity are looking to provide help to those organisations who are working to establish solutions that prevents future harassment and abuse, and are calling upon the imaginative and creative direct action that is starting to develop across the UK.

Their intention is to encourage partnerships across sectors, supporting specialist organisations to reach out to colleagues in businesses, unions, local councils, schools and colleges and other contexts, and work with them to drive long-term culture change.

In their Now’s the Time programme Rosa UK are looking to award up to £1 million through a Challenge Fund which asks:

What would you do toward ending sexual harassment?

ROSA is offering grants of between £25,000 to £100,000, for women’s organisations working in partnership with at least one other organisation who address that question, and will welcome applications various project works which includes:

  • Prevention work (including education and other initiatives)
  • Work with groups and communities who might face additional barriers to getting their voices heard, or might be at higher risk of sexual harassment and abuse, to amplify those voices
  • Innovative uses of tech/arts/sports/etc
  • Work that replicates tried and tested approaches in new settings
  • Work that others can learn from

The charity is especially interested in hearing from cross-sector partnerships where the expertise of specialist voluntary sector organisations at the forefront of this work is shared with others, to help drive broader change.

To apply, Rosa UK asks that you submit an online application outlining your proposal. This application must provide detail about your organisation and partner(s), and your proposal including budget. Rosa UK also advises applicants will also need to attach supporting documents.

For the benefit of applicants, Rosa UK advises they take part in one of their webinars being held on Monday 15th October: 10.30am – 11.30am and Wednesday 14th November: 2pm – 3pm before applying.

The deadline for online applications is 5pm on Friday 14th December 2018.
