Prioritised Support amid COVID-19 – The revised Reaching Communities Award from National Lottery

21-Apr-2020

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Reaching Communities Award from the National Lottery Community Fund has been amended to provide immediate support to local charities and similar groups providing support to communities through this crisis.

The Reaching Communities awards from The National Lottery Community Fund would normally offer grants to voluntary and community groups who want to take action on the issues that matter to people and communities.

However in light of the recent COVID-19 outbreak, the Community Fund recently announced they would amend some of their funding to provide immediate help to local charities and similar groups who are working to support community through these challenging times. Their current Reaching Communities award is one of many funding programmes to reflect this.

The Reaching Communities Fund now offers priority funding to charities, and similar groups who are working to provide support to their local communities amid the Coronavirus pandemic, and is especially interested in hearing from applications from:

  • Organisations supporting people who are at high risk from COVID-19
  • Organisations supporting communities most likely to face increased demand and challenges as a direct result of measures to prevent the result of COVID-19
  • Organisations with high potential to support communities with the direct and indirect impact of COVID-19

The Community Fund says the scheme is a Continuous Rolling Programme, so applications can be accepted at any time; but due to the urgency of the pandemic will expect applications by early May 2020.

For more information and how to apply, you can contact the National Lottery South East Office by email at Londonandsoutheastteam@tnlcommunityfund.org.uk, call 0207 211 1998, or visit the website.
