Local organisation BELIVE are currently taking applications for the role of trustee for their services designed for local people with learning difficulties.
BELIVE are a local organisation who work to provide person-centred befriending services for local people with learning disabilities in Medway area. They work to provide relief of isolation, poor mental health and loneliness, and so promote a sense of belonging, and improve self-esteem and confidence, identity, and wellbeing to the people who would use their service.
BELIVE are currently recruiting for trustees, to help with the day-to-day duties of the organisation’s services for the Medway area.
Being a Trustee is probably one of the most important roles in the voluntary sector, as they help with the direction to a charity; and so they would be responsible for its activities.
Trusteeship with BELIVE is an applicant’s opportunity to put their skills and experience to use and make a lasting difference to a worthwhile cause. By taking on a leadership role, they could learn about the management and strategy side of the organisation.
Aside from attending trustee meetings every season (or when needed), other trustee duties include tasks such as fund-raising or research; as well as having the opportunity to work with new and interesting people from diverse background.
It can be a rewarding volunteering opportunity for busy people, and the experience would enhance their CV and may open doors to other opportunities.
