South East Business Boost from Kent and Medway Growth Hub
03-Jul-2017
The Kent and Medway Growth Hub are continuing their call for applications to provide funding to help local businesses grow.
Essentially there to help new and existing businesses find the most suitable type of business support available in their area, the Kent and Medway Growth Hub are making Local Authority grants of up £10,000 (and support and guidance) available to businesses in Essex, Southend-on-Sea, Thurrock, Kent & Medway and East Sussex to help boost companies and increase employment.
The aim of the scheme is to improve business resilience, profitability and competitiveness.
The Kent and Medway Growth Hub say the programme will provide ‘growth grants’ to local businesses, creating new jobs and ‘new to the firm’ products.
The hub will also support ‘pre-start’ companies and ‘start-up’ companies.
Grant funding from The South East Business Boost (SEBB) may be used to cover the following types of expenditure:
Business Development
Funding required enabling expansion of the business (for example, new technology and related processes)
Plant, Machinery & Equipment
Costs of and installation of machinery and hardware, and training required to operate it
Intangible Items
This can include the cost of purchasing new IT software and training.
Where the programme can fund up to 30% of the cost of qualifying projects; the hub advise that certain sectors are not eligible, and ask that applicants check first.
Because the scheme is a continuous rolling programme; there is no deadline and so applications can be accepted at any time.
