Supporting Local Community Business - The Bright Ideas Fund from Locality, September 201924-Sep-2019
The Community Business Bright Ideas Fund is still accepting applications till the end of September from community groups and organisations that need support
to set up their community business.
Aimed at helping to set up a local community asset which has the potential to be turned into something worthwhile; This fund is also available for a community business idea that needs to get off the ground; or if there is a community group or organisation who would like to set up a community business or enterprise but is in need a bit of support.
The fund is being delivered in cooperation with Power to Change and the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG). The programme is also being delivered by a partnership that includes Co-operatives UK, Plunkett Foundation and Groundwork UK. This consortium is being led by The MyCommunity network run by Locality.
The Community Business Bright Ideas Fund is offering community groups designated and tailored support, as well as grants of up to £15,000 to develop their budding community business ideas: The intention of the Fund is to give community groups the support and tools to start setting up their community business, it also looks to offer the early stage finance needed to carry out talks and meetings with local people and feasibility.
The deadline for this round of applications is Monday 7th October 2019, with additional funding rounds in February and September 2020 and February 2021.
