The Families Fund from Sport England
19-Jul-2017
Sport England are now taking Expressions of interest for their latest funding programme to help families with children get active.
Sport England’s Families Fund is their new investment programme which will support families with children to get active and play sport together.
Sport England say that there are currently 7 million children aged 5 to 15 in England – and nearly 4 in 5 are not doing the recommended daily amount of exercise.
Sport England are looking to change that; they are offering grants of between £50,000 and £500,000 for projects that will focus on families in lower socio-economic groups. Applications for less than £50,000 can be made as long as applicants 'are confident' the project can make a 'significant measurable contribution to supporting families to be active together'.
Organisations with a track record in changing behaviour with families in lower socio-economic groups are invited to submit an expression of interest for their latest funding programme.
The deadline for expressions of interest is 3pm on 31st August 2017; Sport England advise that they expect that this fund will be 'heavily oversubscribed'.
