You are cordially invited to the Learning Alliance for Palliative and End of Life Care Services (LAPCEL) Conference, being held this September at University
Losing someone you love in due time or terminal illness is not something anyone would want to think about; however, being able to get access to reassuring
or supportive end-of-life care when it is needed should be.
Entitled ‘Working with and for Eastern Europeans, Romany & Traveller Communities; how to engage in Palliative and End of Life Care Services’, the event is an opportunity for Healthcare professionals to hear research findings, as well as gain feedback.
Hosted by Medway Ethnic Minority Forum (MEMF), working with Diversity House and local charity Ellenor; this full-day event will be held at the Pembroke Building Rooms in the Medway Campus of University of Greenwich on 15th September 2017 starting at 9.30 am.
There will be two sessions during the event; the morning session (9:30am - 1:00pm) welcoming members of Eastern Europeans, Romany and Traveller Communities in particular, will include encouraging and supportive overviews of available care, with an opportunity to hear user experiences.
The afternoon session (2pm - 5:30pm) includes keynote speaker Jacqueline Joyce from Health Education England (HEEKSS) discussing the topic “Journeying towards the End of Life”. There would then be is an opportunity for Healthcare professionals to hear research findings plus feedback from the day’s sessions.
