To Build the Skills, Confidence and Aspirations – The Women First Fund from Smallwood Trust

15-Jan-2019

Long-established charity The Smallwood Trust is once again making a call for applications to provide funding for projects that enable women to become financially resilient.

Formerly known as Society for the Assistance of Ladies in Reduced Circumstances, The Smallwood Trust works to support women who are living alone in their own home (either owned or rented) in genuine need, irrespective of age or social status or dependants.

They do this by providing grants towards their day-to-day living expenses, as well as by funding programmes that enable women to develop their skills and access employment opportunities.

The Women First Fund is open to charities, social enterprises and other non-profit organisations that have projects that support the Trust’s mission of enabling women to become financially resilient.

In this funding round they are prioritising applications from the North and Western regions of UK, as well as Rural Communities in Kent.

Organisations can apply for grants of £10,000 to £15,000 and The Trust expect to award 10 -15 grants in this round.

The Trust say they are is especially interested in providing funds to existing projects that can show good practice.

The deadline for this round is 5pm on Monday 4th March 2019, with further dates to be announced later in the year.

For further information about eligibility and how to apply please visit Trust’s website.
