To Look After Yourself and Others – Mental Health Resources from King’s Fund20-Oct-2020
National charity The Kings Fund has collected a series of resources to help support mental wellbeing and provide information about mental health services in the time of Covid-19.
Virus outbreaks, like the current coronavirus, can cause a lot of anxiety and fear, and can affect our mental health. Whilst it is important to stay informed, there are also many other things that can be done to support and manage our wellbeing during such challenging times.
The Kings Fund recognised that for many, the pandemic has been a time of huge uncertainty, stress and anxiety; and so has collected some resources that provide support for mental wellbeing and information about the current state of mental health services in England.
Available to care workers and individuals alike, their website contains resources including:
- Supporting our Mental Health and Wellbeing - how to manage both your own mental health and wellbeing issues during difficult times, such as increased anxiety, dealing with uncertainty, and sustaining resilience; as well as looking out for the wellbeing of others.
- Podcasts on Mental Health and the Work-life Balance – episodes added regularly from experts talking about the NHS, social care, and all things health policy and leadership.
- Blog covering Mental Health care in the time of Covid-19
- The NHS in a Nutshell – a constantly updated explainer covering how many people work in the NHS in England, what they do, and the challenges they face.
There are also details of their upcoming virtual conference, exploring practical ideas about transforming work and workplace cultures, and how this could influence people’s work experiences, releasing their full potential, driving improved outcomes for patients and citizens.
