To Support and Enforce Self-isolation - New Package from UK Government, October 2020
20-Oct-2020
The Government recently announced a support payment of £500 for lower-income earners required to self-isolate.
The Government declared as of 28th September 2020 that people with symptoms, or with a positive Covid-19 test result, will be required by law
to self-isolate.
To support those on lower incomes who cannot work from home and will lose income as a result, the Government will also provide a payment of £500.
Nearly 4 million people who are in receipt of benefits in England will be eligible for this payment, which will be available to those who are required to self-isolate from 28 September.
Local authorities are preparing to quickly set up these self-isolation support schemes, which should be in place by early to mid-October.
