Vacancy – Dementia Befriender at wHoo Cares, August 201906-Aug-2019
Hoo Peninsula Cares are currently taking applications for the position of Dementia Befriender on the Hoo Peninsula.
Also known as wHoo Cares, the organisation were created to support individuals on the Hoo Peninsula. They are looking for a dynamic, qualified health or social care professional to be their Dementia Befriender.
Based on the Hoo Peninsula, you will provide a one-on-one befriending service to wHoo Cares’ Partners in the later stages of dementia; by actively engaging the Partners and their families, identifying and accessing meaningful activities to improve feelings of well-being for those living with dementia.
As part of their small, innovative team, wHoo Cares say you will be making real, positive changes in people’s lives, working closely with the Community Life Planning Coordinator to identify new or existing Partners who would benefit from their befriending programme.
You would also enquire about the latest techniques and methodology to support people with dementia, providing guidance and support to volunteers, staff and families with matters relating to dementia and network with the dementia community.
Do you enjoy working with people one-on-one?
Do you have experience in supporting individuals with advanced dementia?
This would be a rewarding opportunity for someone to make a real difference to people living with advanced Dementia on the Hoo Peninsula, their families; as well as the wHoo Cares staff and volunteers.
The closing date for applications is Monday, 26th August 2019.
