Vacancy – Engagement Worker at Arches Local

Applications are currently being taken for a new vacancy of Engagement Worker based at the Arches Local area in Chatham.

Arches Local is part of an ongoing national project aimed at making and lasting positive difference to the community. It is a growing collection of local talent, ambitions, skills and energy from individuals, groups and organisations who want to make their area a better place to live.

It is part of the Big Local national project being run by Local Trust, which is working with funding from the Big Lottery Fund and a range of partners, who provide advice and support for residents.

Based within the Luton Arches and immediate area, you will work with people of all ages and walks of life, finding out what would make a difference to them on an individual, family and community basis, and help them act in response.

Amongst other duties, you would support the general day-to-day running of the Arches Hub; involving local businesses and others when and where needed.

You will work with local people to support the delivery of community-led activities and events, involving residents to be involved in Arches Local activities in ways that best suit them

Arches Local is especially interested in hearing from someone who has enthusiasm for community and is keen to make a difference; with good communication skills, as well as being a local resident or has valuable local knowledge.

As well as the opportunity to learn new skills and gain appropriate training and development, other benefits include flexibility within your work schedule, with time off in Lieu for any work over contracted hours.

This would be a rewarding opportunity for applicants to support local people to make a real difference and create positive change in our local neighbourhood.

The deadline for applications is 15th June 2017.

For more details and how to apply, contact the Arches Local Team on 07572 862336.
