Vacancy – Engagement Worker at MEGAN CIC, May 2019

Applications are currently being taken by MEGAN CIC for the Engagement Worker position at MEGAN CIC.

Established nearly ten years ago, the Medway Engagement Group And Network CIC (MEGAN) work to offer peer support through group attendance, raise awareness of mental health issues, combat stigma and discrimination related to mental health, and support people with mental health issues in their recovery.

Through active engagement with the people who use their service, they work to encourage and empower them to lead in the decision making and shaping of local Mental Health services and provide opportunities for service user peer support to give them the chance to become proactive in their own recovery.

The role of the Engagement Worker would be to access community locations and existing peer support groups in the Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley area, engaging with and encouraging people who have mental health issues to share their views and experiences of services. MEGAN says the role will include signposting and support, and some administrative tasks.

You will have a good knowledge and understanding of Mental Health or have worked with people with mental health issues, as well as have knowledge of IT (use of laptop, projector and internet).

Offering flexible basis working during office hours, other benefits include the opportunity to access facilitated workshops within the organisation, plus additional training as and when required.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who has good communication and listening skills, can facilitate and engage people in conversations and group activity, as well as opportunity to join MEGAN’s team of dedicated staff and volunteers supporting people with mental health issues in Medway, Swale and Dartford, Gravesham & Swanley.

The successful applicants will be required to have a CRB/DBS check.

The deadline for completed application forms is 5pm on Monday 20th May 2019.
