Walk for Peace Medway - 1st July 2017
29-Jun-2017
Walk for Peace is a walk between Gillingham and Rochester, via Chatham. It is open to local people and others, striving for peace and unity across all the communities in Medway. The Walk aims to bring together people of different cultures and backgrounds, promote friendship and embrace positive, interfaith and secular relations through a common cause – peace.
The theme of the Walk this year is ‘Walking For Oneness’ to show how, as individuals and families, we are part of a broad neighbourhood of communities,
walking together with a single purpose that encourages friendship and mutual respect.
The event will begin at 10:00 in Gillingham High Street, then walk to Chatham arriving at 11:00, moving to Rochester as 12:30 and ending at 13:00. Canon Rachel Philips from Rochester Cathedral has agreed to talk at the end of the Walk when it reaches Rochester.
