31-Mar-2017

The local Jobcentre is making a call for companies and local organisations that can provide volunteer work placements or volunteer positions for their customers.

The jobcentre in Chatham have many customers looking for volunteering opportunities, especially those with disabilities who are looking for the chance to do some voluntary work as a first step towards getting paid work.

People volunteer for many different reasons. Each volunteering opportunity can provide its own experience, both for the company and for the individual.

By providing a volunteering placement, local companies can help someone:

  • Gain valuable references
  • Enhance their CV
  • Build their confidence in the workplace
  • Meet new people
  • Make a difference to other people‚Äôs lives

The Jobcentre would welcome organisations from various sectors that could provide voluntary opportunities; and would especially be interested in hearing from companies that could support their customers with disabilities.
