Befriender

wHoo Cares is looking for befrienders to support our most isolated and vulnerable neighbours on the Hoo Peninsula. This is a flexible opportunity where we will work around your availability. The befriending can happen at the client’s home, garden, enjoying a walk together, or in a community venue or activity. Full training and ongoing suppport provided by our Volunteer Team. Over 18 applicants only. DBS check required. COVID-19 safety regulations in place for you and the client to feel as safe as possible.

Telephone Support Worker

This role involves maintaining contact with SATEDA clients via telephone. You will run risk assessments, check on their welfare, listen to, signpost and advise them, while following SATEDA's case management procedures. Are you empathetic and do you have excellent interpersonal skills? We need tactful listeners and speakers! We also need you to have basic computer skills. Children’s Activity Table

We need you to provide simple activities to keep children ages 2+ entertained at the Medway One Stop Shop. This will allow their mothers to engage with professionals on site and listen to important information without distractions. Are you a natural when it comes to interacting and playing with children? Volunteer Champion

As a volunteer champion you will represent SATEDA at a variety of networking events, providing information about our services, or on how someone can become a volunteer (much like you right now!), highlighting what volunteer opportunities we have available. You will also give advice and sign post clients to the services provided within Medway and you will explain how the Employability Programme works. Are you a good communicator and listener who can take initiative? You'll need to develop a good understanding of the organisation, the Employability Programme, and the ways in which clients can be involved and supported by SATEDA. Project Hope

This is a role that can be done at anytime from anywhere. Project Hope involves writing letters, cards, postcards, quotes or poems to female prisoners - many of whom have experienced domestic abuse. These letters are words of encouragement, inspiration and empowerment to let the women know that someone, somewhere is thinking about them and they are not alone. The project has been a huge success so far and we are building more partnerships with prisons across the country so it's an exciting time to join! Are you organised and do you have a way with words?
