Carriers for Causes – Funding from Groundwork/OneStop

28-Mar-2017

The One Stop Carriers for Causes local community grant scheme has recently restarted its call for applications for its second round of funding.

Carriers for Causes is a local grant scheme where the money raised from the Government's 5p bag charge is then used to support projects that would benefit local communities, helping to improve lives and local places across England, Scotland and Wales.

Provided in association with Groundwork, Carriers for Causes grants are available for good causes within two miles of a One Stop shop.

Grants, of up to £1000 will be available for projects that benefit the local community. They are exclusively available to non-profit organisations and groups, and can cover the direct costs needed to deliver the project; this can include buying litter pickers and bags for a community clean-up days, plants, spades and forks to plant up a new community garden; even the cost of a minibus for a day trip for a community group or the materials needed to paint a room at the local hospice.

The scheme is a continuous rolling programme, so there is no deadline and applications can be accepted at any time.

For more information, and how to apply, visit the Groundwork website .
