Guidance on maintaining records of staff, customers and visitors to support NHS Test and Trace
The Government has issued guidance for businesses across various sectors on how they should collect details and maintain records of staff, customers and visitors on their premises.
The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) have announced that venues identified in certain sectors must have a system in place to request and record contact details of their customers, visitors and staff to help break the chains of transmission of coronavirus. The aim of this is to support NHS Test and Trace.
It is given that there is a higher risk of spreading the virus in venues where customers and visitors spend a longer time in one place could come into close contact with other people outside of their household.
To manage this risk, establishments in given settings, whether indoor or outdoor venues or mobile, should collect details and maintain records of staff, customers and visitors.
