Medway Volunteer Network - new support for organisations coming soon

MVA will shortly be re-launching their Medway Volunteer Network webpages with new 'virtual' volunteering support for organisations, helping you to continue and develop the support offered to your volunteers.

Medway Volunteer Network was established to support the local volunteering community, as well as to develop and increase upon the capacity available to voluntary and community organisations in Medway.

Other projects have evolved from this, including MVA’s Befriending Hub Programme, and more recently the COVID-19 Volunteering Support Initiative and the COVID-19 Befriending Programme.

In response to the Coronavirus pandemic, MVA has had to diversify, adapt and extend upon some of its operations and services to not only provide reliable and trustworthy information and guidance about the outbreak, but also help in providing direct support and relief where possible to the immediate and local community.

During these strange and challenging times, MVA has received enquiries about volunteering and how to contribute during the COVID-19 crisis. It has been found that some organisations have had to stop their volunteering activities, whilst other organisations have had a bigger demand from service users or the people they help and support, and so the need for additional volunteers has been greater now more than ever.

In order to help organisations provide better support for their new and existing volunteers, MVA will be re-launching the MVN pages on their website, to help charities and similar organisations continue and develop the support they offer to their volunteers.

From volunteer induction, support and supervision, safeguarding volunteers amid the pandemic, even staying safe whilst volunteering - MVA will be providing new and additional resources and guidance to make sure organisations feel supported and feel better prepared to act quickly to support volunteers through the 'second wave of Covid-19'.

More details will be released soon. In the meantime if you need further information, you can contact MVA by email at , or call 01634 812 850.
