Vacancy - ‘Roma in the Lead’ Project Manager at Red Zebra

Red Zebra are currently taking applications for their manager vacancy for ‘Roma in the Lead’, a new Kent-wide project based at their local Offices.

The recent decision in the EU referendum has caused concern and uncertainty amongst Roma migrants regarding their future in the UK. The belief is that their legal rights of residence and access to healthcare and other public services are no longer assured.

Following Britain’s vote to leave the EU there has also been an increase in the number of hate crimes towards ethnic minority groups; which has created further barriers to integration.

Red Zebra has been given ‘Reaching Communities’ funding – an award from Big Lottery –for the next 3 years to fund a ‘Roma in the Lead’ project. This project looks to address issues Roma migrants face around integration and difficulties in accessing services, and they are currently taking job applications for the role.

Based at the Red Zebra Community Solutions offices, but covering the Kent and Medway districts (including Thanet, Dover, Shepway and Gravesham); the Project Manager will engage, and represent Roma people by actively recruiting 3 part time employee posts from the Roma Community, to truly represent community and individual needs, and address how they can improve trust and access to services, thus building stronger more resilient communities

As well as creating strategic partnerships with the emergency services, Health, County and District Councils, as well as any other statutory organisations to improve trust and develop clear pathways to access to services, you will develop clear links and foster a culture of trust within the Roma Community.

Red Zebra ask that you have clean driving licence and access to a vehicle; and be willing to change days and times work to attend all essential meetings and other work flows as appropriate (some evening and weekend work may be required to hold events).

This would be a rewarding role for someone who would be able to demonstrate considerable initiative and creativity in order to achieve desired outcomes.

Red Zebra ask that interested parties must complete their application pack for the role as they will not accept CV’s.

Closing date for application forms is Friday 15 September 2017.

For more information , or to request an application pack, call Jenny Walsh , Head of Operations, on 01227 772248 , or email Jenny at
